MP v1.1.xx + does not connect via APC220 modules #522

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
MP 1.0.98 (The only old version I have) connects 100% of the time to the APC220
Xbee replacement modules. There appears to be some packet loss however, see
below, it is however useable to change PID's and get HUD data.

MP 1.1.26 & 40 does not connect at all.

Win XP, same conditions/cable/port and baud, etc.

Tested immediately one after the other with nothing else changed

have you tried the latest planner? 1.1.42

Original comment by Meee...@gmail.com on 25 Feb 2012 at 11:46

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
Yes, tried with 1.1.42, it just gives the bad packet error.

385 start
MAVLINK: wait time out btr 0 len 0
MAVLink readpacket read error: Timeout
Mavlink Bad Packet (crc fail) len 0 crc 65535 pkno 0
MAVLINK: wait time out btr 0 len 0
MAVLink readpacket read error: Timeout
Mavlink Bad Packet (crc fail) len 0 crc 65535 pkno 0
MAv Data: len 0 btr 0

Is there any other data or log, etc that I can give to help debug?

HK's GCS shows the attached file shortly after connect.

can you please upload a tlog of the failed connection and the
ardupilotplanner.log file from the planner directory.

graham, the first log file you sent was to short, can you post another.

Original comment by Meee...@gmail.com on 4 Mar 2012 at 7:17

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
The tlogs are empty as no connection is made.
What do I need to do for the MP log to show something helpful? Try connect a
few times with the APC220's?

Tested Stefan's fix as posted in this thread:
http://diydrones.com/forum/topics/apm-mission-planner-with-apc220-rf-module.
Works well with APM1 but no connection established with APM2.

Tested with MP v1.1.51, again works 100% with APM1, but erratic at best with
APM2. Can sometimes get connection but cannot read nor write params, if try to
read params connection seems to go down. Also long pauses starting at
'SR3_EXTRA3' param initially mostly resulting in failed connection.
