Hi

There is an error in the order of the Hannibal / Silence of the Lambs movie
series.

I wasn't sure how to correctly edit the movie rename list so I am just posting
the correct order along with the IMDB#s in the hope that someone else will
correct the order

The correct order is as follows

Hannibal I - Hannibal Rising (2007) - tt0367959
Hannibal IIa- Manhunter (1986) - tt0091474
Hannibal IIb - Red Dragon (2002) - tt0289765
Hannibal III - Silence of The Lambs (1991) - tt0102926
Hannibal IV - Hannibal (2001) - tt0212985

Hannibal Rising is a modern prequal to the original 3 movies in the series (1.
Man Hunter, 2. Silence of The Lambs, 3. Hannibal).

Red Dragon is the same as Man Hunter, It is just a modern remake of the same
movie.

PS. One could argue that the group order should be based on year of production,
however I notice that star wars group order is not based on year, but rather
based on the storyline, so I think Hannibal should be the same.

As explained on forum thread:
http://forum.team-mediaportal.com/threads/hannibal-series-sort-order-vs-star-war
s.108971/

The Hannibal series order is more in line with release year because there was
no director direction ahead of time and the remakes/prequels fit within the
existing IMDb order and should be seen as flashbacks within a movie.

Star Wars however was setup before first movie was even released to be in the
1-6 order that exists now, but Lucas did not had the budget to do things such
as the Clone Wars justice. So instead he opted to add the prequel mystery to
the introduction of the 1st movie that started out as 4th one in the dual
trilogy he had envisioned.

But the custom rename database file allows you to "Have it your way" :)

As far as using this issue to remind me on the other thing you brought up with
having the IMDb+ option to only use sortby and not rename title, please open a
new one, so I can close this one proper.
