Old Dates #648

I'm trying to use Roam for historical research. It would be helpful if the Date Picker went back earlier than January 1st 1970. Most of history happened before then :~)

Why don't you just create a page title with whatever the date is? Why do you need a date picker?

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.

  1. Because for all I knew (until you replied), there could have been a reason that the date picker hardly goes backward.

  2. Now that I know there's no reason, may I suggest you simply fix it? It's very easy to do, and then the software won't seem to tell historians that it's not meant for us.

  3. If I've got your attention for one more minute, I'd like to ask if I can filter the eventual database I'll be building by consecutive date, along with other facets? I expect to have a DB with 25-50,000 items, & then I'll want to build complex (multi-faceted) queries, one of them, not always necessarily the primary one, being dates. This is something that can be done in a spread-sheet, but I don't think I've seen it yet in Roam. (Of course, there are some pretty significant advantages to Roam over a spreadsheet, otherwise I wouldn't even be trying to figure it out).

Thanks again,

yaacov
