"... new version of Roam is Available" (Mac desktop client) not working

That pop-up (attached) does nothing when I click the "click here to update" link. My Roam version has been showing the same value for a while--certainly before and after responding to this pop-up several times over the past couple of weeks.

I have tried closing the app and launching a new session, but the behavior doesn't change.

Furthermore, when I navigate to the "Check for Updates" link (top-right menu behind the elipsis), the response is always "Roam is up to date"

To Reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Roam presents the orange pop-up at the top.
2. Click on 'click here to update' in the pop-up
3. Nothing happens.

System Information:

• Roam version: 0.7.6-410c56fb
• Device: MacBook
• OS: MacOS Catalina 10.15.7 (19H15)
• Browser [e.g. Chrome, Safari, FireFox, Brave] - Roam desktop app
