Importing Pictures & other people's content into this repository #13

Hey, so I've sent a few emails off to see if I can get a few pictures licensed as CC-BY so that I can import them into this repository, specifically Mars Saxman's pictures of a (nearly) by the book RITower setup, and Tomás Aparicio's pictures of the Omnitik PoE modification.

One thing I'd like to clear up is what license this repository is under before I start doing any substantial work on this repository, so long as its a generally open source license that provides for attribution, I'm willing to license my existing & future commits under it.

Since this is not a software repository, CC-BY (Creative Commons Attribution License) might be best if your willing to license your commits under it. CC-BY is what I have asked Mars & Tomás to license their work under, so it would make things pretty easy to merge in assuming they both consent to licensing their work as CC-BY.

That sounds good to me as well. I was never too worried about licensing for this repository, since it always existed purely for pragmatic purposes (like a source-controlled wiki), but now is a good time to address that, and CC-BY seems like a perfect fit for this kind of project. I'll do some research later tonight to see what I have to do to make that "official." I'd rather do that early and have zero friction including the pictures later, rather than put it off and then end up having the pictures stuff pointlessly blocking on license details.

Yeah, I wasn't worried about licensing till I started sending out emails asking if I can use people's pictures, then I realized it should get sorted out before too many people contribute to the repo, lest we have to redo large chunks of the repository.

Do some research on licenses, I will be content with most any opensauce license you choose.

Hey, my recent changes pull in those pictures. I'll open a pull request in a minute for them.

I think this issue is pretty well resolved with the contrib folder, seems like this issue can be closed now.
