Gunpowder Blend #18

"Muzzleload your day"

A blend that works great as both drip and espresso. Offered as two discreet roasts: Bright and Deep. Deep being darker and Bright lighter. Both pull nice shots, too.

Above are civil war soldiers in VA posing and drinking coffee(?) and eating hardtack. The looks on their faces is revealing of the hardness of the time.

v0.9.0 recipe (similar to Muleskinner, but more sweet, fruity, and smooth )

Sample

Coffee Origin Farm/Coop Amount (grams)
Brazil - Carmo de Minas - natural 200
Colombia - Corregimiento Palmichal Microlote 300
Ethiopia Harrar 125
Kenya AA Kabringara 700 Karithathi Farmers 125
Nicaragua Cafe de Los Angeles 250
1K

Notes: at FC it's very bright and intense as espresso. Very nice as a drip.

TODO:

  1. Go a little deeper in the roast
  2. Adjust the blend, a little less of the Kenyan.

tastes like muleskinner (of course?). Try this, removing Nicaragua and upping the Brazil. Adds simplicity, perhaps, yet still maintains complexity. Also, develop between 2:30 and 2C.

Actually, thinking of changing the brand; that is, making the above v2 for Muleskinner Espresso and using "Gunpowder" name as the Working Man's blend.
