Feature request: allow persistent notifications #2

Hi, I often have Firefox in the background, so I don't notice the notifications. It's be great if the notifications didn't disappear automatically, but instead persisted until they were manually dismissed.

Cheers.

Firefox doesn't offer a way to persist notifications. I can, however, add a counter or other indicator to the button on the add-on bar if that helps.

FYI, if you have a notification and click on the Stack Exchange logo in the add-on bar, you can see a counter between parentheses after the heading. E.g. "Desktop notifications for Stack Exchange (2)"

Having a counter or indicator in the icon sounds like a good compromise. However, I never have the add-on bar visible, so would it also be possible to move the add-on's icon to the "normal" toolbars?

Thanks.

i have found a way to get persistent desktop notifications, and uploaded the result to AMO. After it gets approved, Firefox should auto-update the addon. If you can't wait, just visit the full version history at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/real-time-desktop-notificat/versions/ and click on the top version (1.6.4 at the moment)

@protist If you like my add-on, please be the first to post a review :)
