Cannot search people with two words last name #78

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Search for someone who has a two words last name, for example "du pont" (or
"van gogh", or...)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
--> Returns every contact for which the name starts with "du" (or "van"), like
"dujardin", "dugenou", even if the name is only one word.

What version of the product are you using?
--> 1.3.0

What version of Android are you running?
--> 2.3.7 (Oxygen 2.3.2 for HTC Desire)

What version of Exchange are you connecting to?
--> 2007 or 2010, not sure, I think it's 2007.

Please provide any additional information below.
--> Issue has been here for a while, also present with standard HTC Roms
(didn't try with other brands)

Can't reproduce this, I'm afraid. I search for "af Petersen" and find just "af
Petersen, Peter". Searching for "af" produces a long list with names containing
"af", including "af Petersen, Peter". Similar results for "van Dijk" and "van".

Apart from that, I'm afraid we're depending on the search algorithm used by the
server, there's not a lot we can do to change the way that servers choose their
results and that varies between providers and versions.
