MPKMini pad - what event? #1

Pressing a "pad" seems to generate some mysterious non-event. What is it?

It was on a different channel - I was only asking for channel 1, the pads are channel 10 (drums!).

Not sure why an ignored channel comes in as a null event, but whatever.
