In organizing data, we have come across two samples provided by @ksil91- and subjected to bisulfite seq.

NF2_6 NF2_18

details at: http://onsnetwork.org/kubu4/2015/12/18/bisulfite-treatment-oly-reciprocal-transplant-dna-c-gigas-lotterhos-dna-for-bs-seq/

Why did we sequence these? and what do they correspond to? thanks

ksil91 commented 7 years ago

These are two adult F1 (used in the reciprocal transplant) oysters originally from Fidalgo Bay. They were grown out in Clam Bay before being brought in for my common garden experiment in 2015. The 2 refers to which bucket they were in during the common garden experiment; the number is an identifier. Info on date of extraction, quality of the DNA run out on a gel, and wet weight (g) of the oyster before dissection is at this sheet.

Thanks! but do you recall the rationale for sequencing them?

ksil91 commented 7 years ago

I don't, sorry. They are from a different population than the ones used for MBD BSseq, so maybe the idea was to compare the two methods and if they both worked, then we would have methylation info for all 3 populations?
