sea star RNAseq question #1954

Closed grace-ac closed 2 months ago

grace-ac commented 3 months ago

I sent off 18 samples of sea star coelomocyte RNA to Azenta for library prep and sequencing.

They just completed the QC, and some of the samples are below 100ng of RNA.

Options are:

  1. Continue as-is with best effort for library prep and sequencing
  2. Resubmit the samples (I can't... those samples are not replaceable, and we'd have to select a different analysis scheme)
  3. Omit the samples for library prep
  4. Switch the library prep for all the samples to an ultra-low input kit. This will likely increase the cost.

Here are the QC reports:

I'm thinking option 1? Continue with best effort?

Find out cost of 4

Original cost: $3,070.20 If go with option four: $6,870 so more than twice the cost

we continued with as-is and best effort with no additional cost - project back in queue as of last week!
