Agree with @yaaminiv. Not really sure if public/not public has any bearing. Would be nice to have discussion, ask questions, get explanations of processes, etc.

I saw this idea on Twitter and thought it was interesting. @sr320 would give us a "State of the Lab" (a la State of the Union) rundown:
Basically, a bit more detail on the "behind-the-scenes" stuff in the lab. Anyway, thought it might be interesting.
