I found that journal here:
https://www.software.ac.uk/which-journals-should-i-publish-my-software
and there are other journals which might be good for me too.
sent a query to the head editor of JoSfAaG asking whether my work would be in scope.
the editor (Gregory Smith) said that it wasn't in scope
Dear Robin,
At present, the Journal of Software for Algebra and Geometry does not cover R packages.
The editorial board is continually expanding its range of expertise, so this could change at some point in the future.
Sincerely,
Gregory G. Smith—Queen's University Managing Editor for The Journal of Software for Algebra and Geometry
Hi Robin, you might find AGACSE (http://agacse2021.fme.vutbr.cz/main.php) a good conference to submit an associated paper to. Alternatively AACA (https://www.springer.com/journal/6) often publishes papers associated with GA packages (eg. https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s00006-019-0987-7 or https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s00006-020-1053-1)
I asked the editor of Advances in Applied Clifford Algebra, Rafal Ablamowicz, whether this work was suitable for that journal and he replied:
Hi Robin:
A paper describing mathematics behind your package, comparing it to other existing software, and showing some applied problems where you have used Clifford algebra(s) would be suitable for a possible publication in AACA.
Of course, like anyone, I would be curious what has motivated you to write that package and for what purpose. I am not familiar with the R language, I believe it is a programming language that my statistics colleagues used (?).
If you go to https://www.springer.com/journal/6 you will find there papers published in AACA including most recent papers on GAALOP for Matlab and TbGAL. You may be aware of my packages CLIFFORD and eClifford based on Maple for symbolic computations. CLIFFORD can handle for example non-orthonormal bases, but it needs Maple. Some other packages use Mathematica. Engineers in robotics and computer vision like to use Matlab.
So, yes, you are welcome to submit a paper describing your package and showing its functionality as well as the type of problems you have been solving using Clifford algebras. Such paper should be of interest to AACA readers.
At AACA's web page you will find Instructions for the Authors at
https://www.springer.com/journal/6/updates/17956942
Let me know if you have any questions.
Regards,
Rafal Ablamowicz E-i-C of AACA
right now I think that Advances in Applied Clifford Algebra is the best place to publish, but Axioms https://www.mdpi.com/journal/axioms/about might be worth a try.
