A likely broken ubuntu 22.04 install of texlive(2021- newest version) where xelatex-dev not found. R CMD build spray- doesn't build at doc creating stage. Resolved by installing texlive/2023 from source https://tug.org/texlive/quickinstall.html, as apt-get also failed for xelatex-dev. This is not a spray issue, per se, but something that might come up.
