Question regarding particles receiving "the full FIB lighting" (Phase 2 Beta) #160

(Hey, sorry I wanted to post on the roblox Devforum but I can't because of a bug with Discobot but nothing to worry about too much.)

I noticed that in the phase 2 doesn't cast shadows on particles/other effects as well as they do as V15 of Future is Bright. Is it still being worked on or is it where you guys like it? It is most notable with smoke and particles. It takes away from other artificial graphical effects from being made.

Shadow maps in Studio are only for parts. There are more lighting systems in play in FiB than just shadow maps.

@LoganDark well it isn't just for parts. I haven't seen it being stated that way atleast. even in the v16 realease they stated that they are aware of effects not getting the FIB lighting and will be working with it.

Shadow maps in Studio, the Phase 2 that is being shipped to Roblox production right now, is only for parts.

Full Future is Bright will have more than just that.

FIB is going to become a public Studio beta in official Roblox Studio distribution in a few weeks.

Watch the announcements on dev. forum - once we post the beta we'll welcome the feedback on the beta, including bug reports that may still be there etc., on dev. forum.
