The plugin is only compatible with Blender version >=3.2.

This should be stated in the README file

why only 3.2?

It's not only 3.2, but 3.2 or greater. The latest version at the time of writing is 3.6 and it is compatible.

As for why, we use apis to read what objects are selected in the outliner that were not available prior to 3.2
