using xbee library with FIO and SoftwareSerial #28

HI I am just trying to find out if there are any known issues in using the xbee 
library with an arduino fio as opposed to the UNO.  I havent had luck getting 
it to work and was wondering if this could be the problem.

Also the Newsoftserial library was replaced with SoftwareSerial that is 
included in arduino 1.0

Is the xbee shield compatible with this new one??  I noticed error when 
un-commentiong the debugging lines that start with nss.print(....)

I havent had luck getting the xbee library to work and am trying to track down 
the source.

Andrew has uploaded a new experimental version, using a patch I wrote to enable 
using SoftwareSerial.

It needs beta testing.  Please, if you're interested in SoftwareSerial support, 
give it a try and report your results?
