It would be great if drake_visualizer could "Save Data" as well as "Load Data" under the File Menu.

Hi, such support exists for the main director application, which I don't think you are using that.

Currently:

ddMainWindow.cpp triggers fileSaveData
and then onFileSaveData is called actionhandlers.py which can write ply, vtp, vtl

The main dev on this project is away currently, if you could make a pull request I'd be happy to test and integrate.
