in the RussTedrake/lab1 branch, the joint_teleop demo now pulls in the models from RobotLocomotion/models (actually pangtao22/models for the moment) and allow you to manipulate the apple.
SDF of the YCB rubber brick has been added to the models repo.
I've added the essentials directly to drake.
