Alienware 15R4 Post install issue #8

Good Day @RockJesus . I have a system with the below config:

Alienware 15R4 CPU: i78750H GPU: gtx1070 & intel 630 RAM: 32GB HDD: Samsung ssd, hynix ssd and WD SATA OS: high sierra

I'm facing below issues with my system:

  1. Dual GPU isn't working only nvidia works
  2. I'm using someone's clover folder cos i'm not sure how to correctly do patching for ssdt and dsdt. Also, i don't know which kernel patches to include in the config file.
  3. Audio only works with speakers and headphone etc never show up or work.
  4. My system crashes if i try and copy files from another (windows ssd) ssd to the Mac os SSD.
  5. Volume works but brightness controls do not work. I have a GSYNC display. the error that i get is something like this:

I have been trying to fix stuff for almost 6 months now and i can't seem to. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

GSYNC only got nvidia working !

Thanks a ton I will give it a shot. here are my debug files before I use those 2 folders you have shared. btw what is the difference between those 2 folders ? just out of curiosity. debug_15803.zip

the first one "CLOVERaw17r5 8750 1070独显可用.zip" give me black screen and the second one doesn't show me any Mac OS boot drive while booting from clover.

Than u should try my post-install files,and build up ur clover folder by ur own

can you please share the post install files link? I have already shared my original debug files which are working but there are certain issues as I mentioned earlier.

Than u should try my post-install files,and build up ur clover folder by ur own

can you please share the post install files link? I have already shared my original debug files which are working but there are certain issues as I mentioned earlier.

Also, when I try to install the update it leaves me with macOS data folder in the OS root and I have tried to install it with the new boot volume the update puts. its give me the error while updating which I'm attaching. Any help on the crash and update issue will be very much appreciated. Installer Log 4-Apr-2019.txt

It's suported for both 10.13 & 10.14,try use post-install for updating!!!

This is what i Did:

backed up my EFI folder replaced with the post install EFI folder and kexts in your post install. Replaced my config file with yours. Boots fine but then when i tried to install the High sierra update this time it went to the installing mac os "21 min left" and got stuck for 1 hour on the same screen, i figured its not moving. -- So update still doesn't work -- I tried copying file again from another (windows NVME) and then it crashed. So that is not working as well. -- I can share my debug folders if you can please look at it?

I really appreciate your time and all the documentation that your have put on Hackintosh.

I had no such issue ,and already updated the latest 10.13.6,try my v6 in release

When i'm using your v6 or the alienware 17r5 clovers, it stops discovering the hard drive where my mac os is installed only show windows hdd. my mac os hdd is hynix nvme.

nvme issue use google for that,here is my new repo https://github.com/RockJesus/Alienware-Hackintosh ,maybe it's help

Thanks for the new repo but thats the same repo i have been trying to use for 2 days now but doesn't work. so these 2 issues remain no matter what:

  1. Not able to apply security patch 2019-002 on high sierra and
  2. Nvme kernel panic when trying to copy files from a windows nvme to HS nvme.

If you can help in any ways please let me know.

Hey i have tried reading through and following the guide but i have 10.13.6 and i cannot have the nvme patched i tried something and now the system won't boot, its always stuck at the block sign :(

still nvme issue ,try other ssd or hdd

Well i installed the High sierra this time with your Clover for i78750h and it worked like a charm everything works and i MEAN EVERYTHING except for the copy and paste from the windows ssd(samsung 981 nvme) to macos hdd skhynix PC300. Everytime i try that the OS crashed! attaching debug files as well. Please please if you get some time can you have a look and advice what is needed.! debug_13201.zip

u have to patch ur nvme, google that

Hey I honestly did follow word by word but i can't happen to find how to patch for 10.13 there are plists for other versions but there is none for 10.13.6 except for the config_patches.plist which doesn't seem to work. Btw my api paths are:

_SB.PCI0.RP09.PXSX _SB.PCI0.RP21.PXSX

@rajverma1985 I also have Alienware 15 r4 and I have currently oc Catalina installed and faced a lot of problem patching UhD 630 still can't get it working . the clover Catalina you have in your repo , does UhD 630 work with it?

well if you have 15R4 it will never work "if you have GSYNC panel" in case you have the normal one you can switch the GPU and certain injection will do the trick for you. GSYNC will never make the intel work, the only case it may work is when you have another monitor plugged in using the usb-c type to hdmi cos the intel GPU is directly hooked on to the usb-c port.

thanks for the info brother , the catlina on your repo works ? with gpu acceleration? @rajverma1985 , and if it works , so i wanna know which gpu specifically , and if not does high sierra work better or catlina from your repo

its a 630UHD but cos its linked directly to the usbc it won't work. I'm working on getting something to work so i can use it with my external monitor and use it on a catalina or big sur install.
