non-anonymous user sends a direct message to an anonymous user, it shows on the left-hand bar but is never shown in chat window as a message. also, dm window does not load on 1st click for anonymous user.
Steps to reproduce:
send message to an anonymous user
message will be seen in the left-hand bar but not main messages for direct message.
Expected behavior:
should receive a direct message as a message in direct chat.
Actual behavior:
the message will be seen in the left-hand bar but not main messages for direct message.

Description:
