Cannot start server with an unknown storage engine: mmapv1. #20256

Description:

I followed the instructions here: https://docs.rocket.chat/installation/manual-installation/ubuntu

The doc says I have to use mmapv1 storage engine in order to use rocket chat.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Follow these steps: https://docs.rocket.chat/installation/manual-installation/ubuntu
  2. sudo systemctl status rocketchat - Failed
  3. cat /var/log/mongodb/mongod.log
  4. you should see: Cannot start server with an unknown storage engine: mmapv1.

Expected behavior:

It should work as the documentation says.

Starting in version 4.2, MongoDB removes the deprecated MMAPv1 storage engine.

@bbrauns Thx, but I'm looking for answers from RocketChat's side since their documentation is wrong and broken.

RocketChat docs is deprecated. I mean docker-compose section.

command: mongod --oplogSize 128 --replSet rs0 (without --smallfiles and mmapv1) working good with 5.0.5 mongodb
