Missing "Direct Message" Button #280

Dear Team,

thanks for your great work!

Unfortunately my users are really unhappy that there is no 1-Click Way to start a Direct Chat with another User. Or is there and i missed it?! Always having to go to the Directory List, or click on a user within a channel confuses people! E.g. Mattermost has such a direct Message Button

This is what the users are trying within rocket chat and get confused: 1) New "Pencil" Button: Screenshot_1

2) Stranded in "Create Channel" Window Screenshot_2

In Comparison Mattermost has this + button in the exact same sidebar location: Screenshot_3

hey @githubkoma, to create a new DM with any user, you just have to search for him (magnifying glass icon) and click the user, as you would open a channel. I don't think there is a necessity for another button, as searching and clicking the user is pretty straight forward and simple.

@gabriellsh I think there is also a setting which allows dm on clicking on the user avatar only, as there was a function I came across that does the same

you are right, i also saw that option

but thats not what a "casual" user, who knows e.g. whatsapp thinks it should work to create anything simple as a direct message
