Incoming caller's voice is playing quite loudly in the back speaker and lower in the earpiece #125

I just updated via Android Market to 1.0.7 (same problem in 1.0.6) and
noticed that now the sound of the incoming caller is playing quite loudly
in the back speaker and lower in the earpiece. Before I updated, the volume
in the earpiece was perfect with a low very level coming from the speaker.
I have tried to adjust the new Earpiece Gain, it does vary the gain of the
earpiece, but the back speaker is always louder.

So, now anyone near me can hear the incoming caller's voice.

One thing I should mention is that I am running Sipdroid on my HTC Touch
(Vogue) and am running Android 1.5 from this project:
http://code.google.com/p/vogue-android/.

One idea to examine/as a workaround, try to set a low or no media volume before
calling. Sipdroid now remembers media volume set in-call so this won't affect
earpiece
volume but might be relevant for your speaker volume on vogue.

Thanks for the idea; I tried it and moved the media volume to the lowest
setting but
the back speaker volume was not affected during the call--it remained at high
volume.
I then tried moving the ringer volume to the lowest setting but this too had no
effect. Interesting.

It seems that this issue for me happened when I moved from 1.0.5 to 1.0.6 with
no
change in 1.0.7. I realize that my phone is not standard Android hardware but
it was
sure nice when this worked! If there are any other ideas out there it would be
great. Can I grab 1.0.5 source and build it by any chance?

1.0.5 is r273. Just check out that version instead of HEAD.

Oh great. Was tring to find that. While I am a Java developer, I've never
built an
Android app. Do you have an ant script or similar to build and bundle this
into an
apk file?
