DTMF not working

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. While on a call that requires dtmf input such as calling into my voice 
mailbox, the dtmf input tones are not recognized and I keep getting a 
constant message to make a selection while on the call.  Calling my voice 
mailbox from a different phone works ok, so I know it is not a problem with 
my provider. 
2.  Making and receiving outbound calls work ok, except anything that 
requires dtmf tones

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Tones not recognized

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
sipdroid 1.2.4 on android 1.5

Which SIP server are you using? What happens with PBXes?
using sip.broadvoice.com or any other sip provider

Which type of network are you using?
wlan network
