Originally put the issue in phrosty (https://github.com/laldoroty/phrosty/issues/8) because I thought it would be a phrosty issue. It was not a phrosty issue. Also, totally put all my changes on branch "tests" even though I should have made a new branch for debugging this.

Science and reference image look aligned, but difference image still has too many things in it, and code crashes at decorrelation step. See laldoroty/phrosty#8: image image

Closing the issue because the difference image is now aligned, but opening another issue because this is clearly still an issue in mk_lc.py.
