I have been working to build a better process to build pano images from my DJI Mini 2 drone.

Hugin CPFind tool not finding enough control points with snowy ground. #1

I have found Hugin CPFind cannot find enough contrast in the images where there is a bunch of snow or other surfaces that are limited in significant contrasty features.

I posted to google Groups here - https://groups.google.com/g/hugin-ptx/c/1x3iv7vcu4A/m/xBxZSAA3CQAJ?utm_medium=email&utm_source=footer

So far I have not found a solution to the issue.

Two ideas I had are -

  1. Force CPFind to find more "risky" or lower quality CP's, but after a bunch of testing, I could not make any new CP's via the script commands.
  2. Somehow tell Hugin that the images are in a specific order. The drone I use always takes them in a fairly predictable order, but has some variation in the first image depending on the start point of the gimbal.

Solved! v2 fixes this issue with the templates and the prealigned switches. Also uses the geocpset to link non-cp connected images.
