PSA: Major rebranding of Cosmos project and Asteria project #42
As you may have noticed, we are now currently rebranding our mod and will be published on Modrinth, the better minecraft modding platform.
The background
To explain the background, we saw the announcement about new modpack feature on Modrinth, and we once attempted to make Cosmos and Asteria as modpack. However the attempt was failed due to many mods has not been published into Modrinth. (There was lack of mods on that time)
However, now the situation has been changed. Many mods began to be published into Modrinth rather than CurseForge due to their May 2022 update. To explain about this change, CurseForge team added a restriction which restricts the download of their mods/modpacks to CurseForge-affiliated clients.
To finish the modpack project, we are now announcing new, re-branded project; Say hello to Kosmos project and Steria project!
Expected changes
As of 1.19.3, you will expect following changes:
Every mods on this project needs to be published into Modrinth. We will no longer using any CurseForge or related things.
Modpack will now become available from Modrinth! Now you don't have to download the mod individually. (You can still download individually from our README.md files, but not recommended)
Now there is additional rules when making pull request or making mod suggestion related to Minecraft mods:
Any mods which is only available for CurseForge will be rejected.
Link to the mod must be Modrinth link. CurseForge or any other sources will be rejected.
Mods should be free and open-source(FOSS), and must use one of the following licenses: GPL, LGPL, AGPL, MIT, BSD, Apache, MPL, Public Domain. Any mods which uses licenses not on this list or using their own licenses will be rejected.
