Version Support Tracker (v1) #2

Closed DavidBuchanan314 closed 2 years ago

DavidBuchanan314 commented 3 years ago

The purpose of this issue is to track which TV models, and firmware versions, the exploit is working against.

If you are having trouble getting the exploit to work, please contact us on discord and/or open a separate issue.

At a minimum, please specify your webOS version, software version, and TV model - feel free to add any other details you think are relevant.

You can find your "webOS Version" under Settings > General > About This TV > TV Information > webOS TV Version

You can find your "Software Version" under Settings > General > About This TV > Software Version

IMPORTANT: Please don't get webOS version and software version mixed up!

Status: not working TV Model: OLEDOLED55CX5LB webOS Version: 5.3.0-19 (jhericurl-jasper) Software Version: 04.30.40

Log: start-devmode.sh: Downloading from https://rootmy.tv/files/ststage3. start-devmode.sh: Download completed, but target directory (/media/internal/downloads/) did not match what we expected (/media/cryptofs/apps/usr/palm/services/com.palmdts.devmode.service/). This likely means your TV is not vulnerable to LunaDownloadMgr exploit.

Apparently in 6.2.0 the webOS version is buried somewhere else. To find it go to Settings -> General -> Devices -> TV Management -> TV Information.

Status: Not Working TV Model: OLED55C1PSA webOS Version: 6.2.0-27 (kisscurl-kavir) Software Version: 3.20.80

Log:

start-devmode.sh: Downloading from https://rootmy.tv/files/stage3.sh
start-devmode.sh: Download completed, but target directory (/media/internal/downloads/) did not match what we expected (/media/cryptofs/apps/usr/palm/services/com.palmdts.devmode.service/). This likely means your TV is not vulnerable to LunaDownloadMgr exploit.

Apparently LG decided to patch their vulnerabilities 😝

Status: Not Working TV Model: OLED65C8PLA webOS Version: 4.4.0-9 (goldilocks-gorce) Software version: 05.40.09

I get the Denied Method call "download" for category error message. I would downgrade but don't want to lose airplay2

i downgraded to 05.30.10 (EU USB C8 firmware) https://gscs-b2c.lge.com/downloadFile?fileId=GGGHf6hjJqkecDvMod4H1g airplay is still there on my tv. rootmytv worked.

Status: Not working TV Model: 55UK6300PLB webOS Version: 4.4.0-9 (goldilocks-gorce) Software Version: 05.40.09

Fails on the denied Method call "download" for category step. I would downgrade but LG seems to have removed all older firmware versions for my model.

edit: downgrading to 05.30.10 makes the rooting work.

If anyone here is willing to beta-test a "v2" of this exploit, send me an email (my address is stated in all my commits in this repository) or a message on Matrix - @my github nickname all lowercase:hackerspace.pl.

Have a happy day count rollover, or something.

Software version 05.40.25 exploit doesn't work, the beta will do?

Will be there an instruction how to update to the latest webos and rootmytv if anyone has installed an older webos with the first rootmytv release?
