Quick forms: Irrigation #83

Open aislinnpearson opened 2 years ago

As described in the document attached to https://github.com/Rothamsted-Ecoinformatics/farm_rothamsted/issues/70#issue-1093250757:

"Currently covered by the spraying quick form but ideally this would be its own quick form, as it usually requires its own job sheet and water use needs to be monitored by law (currently captures in the in the irrigation book) which is required by both the Environment Agency and the Red Tractor scheme."

See photo for the paper version of the current records: Irrigation form

Could possibly be resolved once the new Templates module is released.

@mstenta/ @paul,

I tested this in the new templates module associated with this milestone 2.23.0 (on the platform.sh site here: https://pr-16-qp74jfa-2mu45anerqtvq.uk-1.platformsh.site/) to see if I could use the templates to make an irrigation 'quick form'. Here were my initial observations:

  1. Can't add a crop: Given that crop is listed in the above photograph and following issue #704 it would be nice to add a crop from the taxonomy but that wasn't possible because they aren't listed as a data field on the input logs. I assume that would be resolved when we resolve issue #704 though
  2. Lack of widgets would probably push me towards a quick form: I think what would push me towards a quick form for this particular use case is the lack of widgets we have built up. For example, I really like the locations/ assets ajax filter on the quick forms - the location/ asset select box might get a bit confusing given we have so many assets. The other 'widget' we have in the quick forms is the ability to select from different units (hectares or square meters for example).

Other than that I think it is really great. I want to show it to Jonah and Bruce, to see if we can use it for observations and rat bating.
