Infoboxes as implemented on Wikipedia do use the MediaWiki template system, but also use an extension called Lua http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Lua
Because we want our infobox content to be scrapable by DBpedia (http://dbpedia.org/Datasets#h18-11), it may be necessary to install the Lua extension. That is, unless we go the SMW route.
