Progressive rotate strategy #1

Hi Nikola,

I'm not sure if you're interested in this, but I guess there is some chance. A couple of months ago I sent a pull request to the original repo by @kbond with a proposal of the progressive rotate strategy. That's when recent backups are frequent and the old ones become deleted gradually, leaving you weekly or monthly ones for a pretty long while. Have a look at the code – it might be not to hard to move it to your repo!
