What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
( and ) characters are not supported in a program named.
Ex: NTP_LOG(l)
(Switch 3com 5500 series)

Y can't search with:

Input validation error! The following fields had the wrong format:
program1

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Logzilla 2.9.9o
Ubuntu Server 9.10

Try editing your config.php and modifying the regex for program1
