The ice has a sharp line, like its the edge of a biome, in a square around my home. I quit and restared and now the square has ice. I noticed that when I cross the line my instances switched from 5800 to 5200 so perhaps it just didn't load fast enough.

This is due to how Valheim creates water zones, nothing I can do unless I want to try to reinvent the entirety of their water system
