WHY
We seek to expand on the successful deployment of Quadratic Funding in Boulder, CO and bring a similar grant to Los Angeles to strengthen social and economic capital in the city. The Downtown Stimulus project was able to allocate over $30K to hard hit businesses dealing with the COVID-19 response. That was back in March and a lot has changed, but the fact remains, many business owners remain in a precarious situation. Local businesses are integral parts of the social capital in our communities. We can preserve that capital and cut through red tape to provide immediate relief with these types of community driven matching grants.

Original hack Write up
SCOPE
We are looking for hackers to fork the original Downtown Stimulus project and give it some Los Angeles, California flair. The primary requirements are to re-design the front-end to handle the new city and to work with us to design the site.
Ideal Applicant
Time Required
You have until the end of the hackathon to complete the project.
Technology Skills Required
Our initial requirement is for front-end work to re-brand the app for Los Angeles. Anyone with strong design and web skills would be a good fit.
Bonus Bounties
In addition to the front end work to deploy this code in a new city it would be great if we could contribute features back upstream to Downtown Stimulus. You can work on issues on that codebase for a bonus.
Thank you!
Gitcoin has been a massive positive force for the open source community. Early indicators from other Quadratic Funding projects suggest the same mechanisms can be used in a whole host of other public good scenarios. We look forward to another successful deployment of Downtown Stimulus to assist and uplift vulnerable community resources.
