I know this issue has already been brought up (#2816), but wanted to clarify if it would be easier to implement support with the current state of affairs?

There is a solution that is most advanced in this direction, it emulates DS4 (as much as possible) through networking. Many Steam games work, the gamepad is well recognised on the system.
