Game Update Version : 1.1.2028814
Current on master : Emulator Build Version : 1.1.326
Graphics Backend : OpenGL
Boots fine on OpenGL, however, in overworld and battle sections, there seems to be some "artifacting" on the screen. Doesn't seem to appear in Cutscenes or menus, perhaps because they are pre-rendered/2d? Seems like it may or may not appear during battles. I didn't see it during the opening, nor did I see it in the 3 battles I did after that, but I noticed it during a Quest-Battle, so I can't discount me just missing it.
Vulkan results in most things appearing black, but certain effects still appear despite this. If you boot with Vulkan and swap to OpenGL after, you also need to clear your shaders or it will stay black or the "artifacting" will be a lot worse.
I will mention that while launching the game in OpenGL, the black screen bug appeared. I got around this by restarting. Though it seems random as to how often it happens or how many times I need to restart.
Hardware specs:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 6-Core Processor, 3701 Mhz, 6 Core(s), 12 Logical Processor(s) GPU: GeForce RTX 3060ti MSI RAM: 32gb
Screenshots:
Apart from the shown problem, I haven't encountered anything else. You can see how certain back-drops don't have the issue here. Might be related to distance.
Same specs as above. On build 1.1.326 though.
Been messing around with the settings to see if anything helped with the issue. So far, the only way to consistently launch without the black-screen bug is these settings:
OpenGL Software: Host (not unchecked) D-Ram to 6gb V-Sync on Docked
Having any of these different caused it to black screen or load infinitely. Mostly black-screens though. Sometimes it still launched with the black-screen issue, but after removing my shader cache (not deleting) and launching it, I was able to get rid of the bug. Afterwards, I just had to replace the new shaders with the ones I removed and it worked still.
In my tests I took these new pictures:
In this one you can see how the bars appear different. You can also see how the water and sky aren't affected. This usually only happens when switching from Vulkan to OpenGL.
Another picture of the bars.
While launching in handheld causes issues, you can swap to it in-game without a problem. As you can see, while the bars are still there, the lowest, darkest one covers most of the screen instead of just half. If put into handheld when experiencing the other bars, they just appear slightly wider.
Just something I felt prudent to post due to it being seeming random and different. A strange green halo appears around the broken black stars, rather than them just being black. No idea what caused it, and it wasn't there next boot.
Couple crashes, once while stopping emulation while in handheld, once while launching.
Ryujinx_1.1.326_2022-10-25_22-39-35.log This one is from the stopping emu.
Ryujinx_1.1.326_2022-10-25_21-47-25.log This is the launch crash.
Me again. Once again, same specs as above, ver 1.1.328.
Well, I've done some more testing, and it seems you launch Vulkan fine if you disable PPTC and Multithreading. Doing this also allows you to start in handheld, which has the benefit of removing the bars!!! And the added downside of crushing the blacks so you're eyes bleed :((( Changing to docked mid-game just adds the bars back, and changing back to hand-held keeps them after.
I will say that it can be inconsistent with working though; I've been unable to recreate it, for a while.
Few pictures too.
No bars here, but they're actually there, if you look at the below; You can see that it's just so wide that it affects the whole screen. The resulting overlay makes dark colours too dark.
This is what the bars look like when swapping from Handheld to Docked. Strangely, it's different depending what area I was in. Might just be the lighting.
When upscaling to 4k from handheld, these spark things appear at the bottom of the screen. Difficult to get a picture of due to them flashing.
That's all I can figure out. If I see the Ubisoft logos again I'm going to go mad, so I'm finished testing for now.
Test on Build 1.1.335
Even if i setup like said before this post, i always have black screen. Test on OpenGL or Vulkan. Same Result.

have same configuration just use vanilla game without update just with dlcs and the black lines disappears I have Asia and usa versions of the game and when the usa version comes black screen I close the app and restart but this time with the Asia version and one or another start to works
kind weird thing but im almost finish the game and is complete playable
and the black lines problem is about a some kind of shadows than don't appears on this area cuz with or without the update in this area doesn't affect those vertical black lines
cuz if you go farthest than that black slime the black shadows appears so a fix or mod disabling that shadow could fix the problem
and here is with the game update probably this area the game disable the black shadows and comes perfect
same area walking a little bit on the game shadows probably turn on
Hello I have finish %59 of this game and still getting black screen bug on new version. Usually my fix is to restart the pc, clear cache and try again but it is all random. I guess there is no single solution. No asian version doesn't fix, it is random some days you got it some days you don't.
I have the black screen bug too
One time out of twenty the game launches correctly, the rest of the time I have a black screen with just the sound and the special effects (herbs, etc..) I tried all app the settings(shaders, no shaders, vulkan, opengl,...) and deactivate everything in the nvidia panel, nothing changes.
The problem disappears "randomly".
Ryzen 5 5600X RTX 3070TI
Also experiencing the black stars/mostly black screen in game. Sometimes a Ryujinx update will fix it temporarily, or some combination of game title updates will fix it, but it always seems to break again. Deleting the Ryujinx roaming folder seems to temporarily fix it as well.
Also experiencing the same issue above. However, the game boots for me almost every time with no graphical issues when the memory manager is set to Software instead of the two Hosts.

Didn't fix it for me.
Black Screen here
OKay So I tried the recommendation above from @Reskitt , that does work at all. The game plays but some black areas stay there and get mixed with shadows. But the game shows. The image below was showing better until I changed from Handheld to Dock.
Test in build 1.1.619 Game version : 1.1.2028814
Graphics Backend : Vulkan
Enable PPTC : True Memory Manager Mode : Software Graphics Backend Multithreading : Off

Screen shots : Shadows artifacts are different between modes Handheld Mode
Docked Mode
Needs an update. All major issues are now resolved.
Game is now working great, there are still a couple of smaller graphical issues here and there and the performance could be better. As I progress through the game I will try to update the issue with anything else I notice.
Graphical Issues:
In the 1st world the caves have flat lighting with no shadows
In the 2nd world the caves produce this weird "halo" lighting that when the characters are behind it they get affected by

Performance:
Upscaling the game to 4x res causes rainbow artefacts to randomly appear! Example: https://streamable.com/iksycw
Game crashes after 30 - 45 minutes of play. Closes Ryujinx. Nvidia GPU. Opengl. Native resolution. Ryujinx 1.1.703
Game version: 1.3.2145477 Ryujinx version: 1.1.811 Mods: no
Windows: 11 22H2 CPU: i7 13700KF GPU: Nvidia RTX 4090 RAM: 64 GB DDR5 GPU-driver: 531.79 Renderer: Vulkan
The black in-game rendering and shadowy artifacts are indeed fixed. The flat "rainbow" artifacts (don't seem really rainbowy to me honestly) reported by @Niwu34 are still there (during gameplay and at menus, not at loading screens) and the same as shown in his posted video: https://streamable.com/iksycw The artifacts seem to come kinda from the bottom of the screen and affect a flat part of the area of the screen. Although this seems to occur more heavily at above native resolution scaling, it still happens at native resolution scaling, but then to a muuucchhh lesser extend. Kingdom Battle also seems to suffer from a similar issue (https://github.com/Ryujinx/Ryujinx-Games-List/issues/233#issuecomment-1555982095 although the artifacting is really blocky instead of affecting a flat area), so my guess this is caused by a bug in Ryujinx regarding the behavior of the Snowdrop engine that is used in both of these games.
Edit: the stripy text rendering is also fixed.

So here it is my test on:
OS: Ubuntu 23.04 Video: Nvidia 4090 using the Driver 530 CPU: 13900K RAM: 128GB DDR5 Ryujinx: Version 1.1.815 Render: Vulkan Game Version: 1.0.2011220
Then I installed all DLC and Updates
After which it looked like this:
Again, same hardware and Kyujinx version, but just updated the game version and included all DLCs.

I couldn't reproduce these glitches myself on Windows. But what is exactly the difference between updated and not updated? The glitching looks almost the same to me at least between updated or not updated. Also, what did you set the Resolution Scale to in the game?
I did not see any difference, it is just that I did not have it updated to the latest game version, that was all. For the configuration here it is:
Exactly the same issue for Ubuntu 22.04 with Ryujinx 1.1.862
Same issues as mrtnptrs and luisalvarado reported here. I am using 13700k and 4090 on Windows 11 and Ubuntu 22.04 and 23.04.
Using Ryujinx v1.1.952 and game runs flawlessly on my system.
i5 7600 GTX 1070 16GB Ram Windows 10
Both The Tower of Doooom DLC & The Last Sparkhunter DLC run fine with no issues. No graphical issues other than on occasion the first warning message may have corrupt text that quickly corrects itself. Other than that, the game runs great
On 1.1.952 I get random flickering at the bottom part of the start menu here:
On Ubuntu 23.04 with an Nvidia 4090 using the 535 drivers. The flickering yellow effect does not show on the screen above but it happens in rare cases when the game loads.
Here you can see the "spaceship" I believe and you can see I am using Vulkan in Docked mode. The settings are:
With System version 16.0.3
Here is how the game looks after loading:
So with the current settings and version, game still looks beautiful for someone that just ate a bunch of mushrooms. Game version is this one:
can someone help me install
Using RTX 4090 on Windows 11, driver version 536.99 and Ryujinx 1.1.998, can confirm that the same flickering issue described above in title screen also happens for me at Native resolution and 2x scaling. May be related to #233.
The black diagonal lines mentioned above are still present. Though since some people seem to not have the issue it might only be effecting AMD GPUS.
The game runs pretty good otherwise. The Rayman DLC works without issues as well.

The screen will flicker when using hypervisor on Mac However, not every scene will flicker, please refer to the scenes illustrated by the two videos:
I test this issue with the new JIT as well (https://github.com/Ryujinx/Ryujinx/pull/6057) The performance is perfect! I recommend using new JIT on Mac
Game Update Version : 1.6.2225577 Current on master : Emulator Build Version : 1.1.1217 Graphics Backend : Both OpenGL and Vulkan
Game boots fine, but has sporadic green/yellow flickering on Vulkan on the bottom quarter of the screen at native and 2x resolution. Flickering not present on OpenGL and plays fine for the first 30 mins of testing. However the emulator crashes after closing the game in OpenGL.
Hardware Specs : CPU: i9-12900K GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4090 RAM: 64GB
Overall there is some sort of bug with both this game and Kingdom Battle on the 4090.
Retest using RTX 4090 on Windows 11, driver version 552.22 and Ryujinx 1.1.1297, title flickering issue persists at Native resolution with both Vulkan and OpenGL. If using OpenGL, Ryujinx crashes at stopping emulation.
Ryujinx version 1.1336 on MacBook Pro m2. Few crash with hypervisor on, flickering with x2 or x3. With hypervisor off, everything run well.
