Discrepancy in error message of add command and the description of add command

When purposefully not adding a name when adding a person to the contact list, the error message lists a/address as not optional by not including the square brackets. However, the UG mentions that address is indeed optional. While the behaviour indeed follows the UG, the difference in documentation is confusing for users.
