French archivists use the element <date> on a regular basis inside <physdesc>, and <p> tag (within <acqinfo>, <bioghist> and <custodhist>) to structure the data.
Suggested Solution
Authorize an element <date> in <physDescStructured> and <p> with at least the attribute @standardDate and a new attribute, @dateType.
