via PR if possible, and dragging in JD make ecology is strictly forbidden

Can we just move our stuff to a subdirectory of this repo and do it our way? What elements of what we've already done quickly, neatly and effectively are "strictly forbidden"?, and does that apply to subdirectories as well?
