Write performance tests.
Add cache of record to improve performance.
- A field is assigned to cache if source type "static" or "env".
- For fields with multiple sources, only first source is considered.
Some code improvements

First part of review. There are some nice improvements in this PR but some leftovers need to be tackled. I will continue reviewing the cache implementation as soon as possible.

Changes regarding the first part of review were already addressed 👍
