The MANIFEST file is generated by the perl mkmanifest tool, so modifying it this time won't fix the problem going forward. Given that mkmanifest doesn't seem to support the .travis.yml file (and I don't want to have to tweak the Makefile.PL file to force it to do something special for this file), I will just not include the .travis.yml file in future distributions.
