try model with TLP for just canopy trees #10

@mcgregorian1,

Could you please try a model looking whether TLP is a good predictor of drought response for canopy trees only? I'm hoping that dropping the understory for this analysis may give us a clearer picture of how good TLP is as a predictor.

(This is just an off-topic preliminary analysis at this point, but could turn into something interesting if there's a strong response.)

Hi @teixeirak

I ran the variables just for canopy and I found that tlp makes the model slightly worse than not having it. image

The R^2 values are better than they were when we included subcanopy, but ultimately the max value for the best model is only 0.24, so explaining 24% of the variation. Ideally we'd want an R^2 value at least >0.5 I think

Thanks! We have our answer on this (at least for now), so I'll close this.
