QA Instructions #95

Good morning @SCCapstone/notaiscribe You've been assigned to test our app, UofSCTourAR for the upcoming QA milestone. Our app allows the user to take a virtual augmented reality tour of the University. Unfortunately, our app is location based and can be tested most effectively on USC's campus. Because of the unfortunate circumstances that could be keeping you all at home, we could potentially add tour stops near your homes for the purpose of testing the main functionalities of the app. Our RC1 release has been tagged and is on TestFlight, and we will add you as testers, but if it is okay with Professor Vidal, we can make these adjustments so you are able to test at home if no one is able to get to campus safely. Please forward this to your 4th group member (jake5soccer) as their email was not listed on Github.

Thank you!

Ayla Nickerson

Yes. We discussed in our meetings how your app will need to work (somehow, for testing purposes) anywhere, since the TAs and I would not be walking around campus in order to test the app.

So, make sure there is a way we can all test it. @SCCapstone/notaiscribe and the @SCCapstone/instructors .

@josemvidal Yes, there are multiple tour stops accessible from the Innovation Center. If you or the TA's location has changed, I will add more locations at your homes. I am waiting to hear back from the team assigned to test us.

Yes, USC is closed. You can add one at 33.990632, -81.012736 for me.

@Carabeth @jake5soccer @RyderHenderson @tjb101825 Please let me know the lat/long (can be found on google maps) or address of the location where you'll be testing the app and unassign yourselves when done. Thanks!

@jake5soccer @tjb101825 @iqbal128855 I will be adding and pushing final added tour stops tomorrow so your team and our professors are able to test the app from home. If you would like me to add stops near your location please comment your lat long by tomorrow (4/8) at noon!

@SCCapstone/uofsctourar can you add a dialog to your app that asks the user for lat/long and then the app uses those values? or something like that?

As it is, it is impossible to fully test the app.

josemvidal commented 4 years ago

Alternatively, can you make an android .apk? On the android emulator we can easily fake the device's location. This is impossible (from what I gather from googling) on an iphone.

josemvidal commented 4 years ago

Nevermind, I found iSpoofer which lets me set my location in my iPhone. It works! I am not there:

Everyone should use it for testing.

@jake5soccer see my comment above.

Will use iSpoofer to test the app.
