4 Joystick Limit #17

This is probably an unusual situation, but I'm running up hard against the 4 stick limit.

HOTAS + Peddals + 2 MFDs + Button panels is more than SCJMapper can currently support. It seems to be able to detect and see all joysticks, but the "assign joysticks" screen can only assign up to 4, with unassigned Joysticks displaying the mapping "JSX" and causing errors if they are assigned a command, occasionally resulting in a crash.

It's particularly nasty due to SC deciding that my HOTAS is JS5, and my being unable to convince it otherwise due to their stick reassignment just not working. It's probably worse for people with sticks like the X55, where the throttle and stick are separate devices.

This this a limitation of SCJ, or of Star Citizen?

js1..js4 was said to be a limitation of SC - but this might have changed now. I will make 5..8 assignable then.

Let me check i_DumpDeviceInformation with 5 devices plugged in before you do that, it may well be a limitation of SC.

Teiwaz83 commented 10 years ago

Yeah, it just doesn't detect the 5th device in SC. Blech. I guess I'll remap my MFDs to keyboard commands with Joy2Key to free up some slots. I'm going to go report that as an issue on the SC forums. Feel free to close this issue, probably nothing you can do about it yet.

For any future improvement on AC ... - it supports js1..js8 now :-)
