In case this is of any use/interest we've converted all of the SDG Indicators and metadata into a machine readable format: https://github.com/GSA/jkan/tree/gh-pages/_data/dashboard

Thanks, this will definitely be useful! I was parsing markdown before.

Btw, I really like the github pages + yaml metadata approach. We use it for our community ontology metadata registry http://obofoundry.org

It would really be quite delightful if the SDGs were developed by UN member states making +1s to PRs to Yaml docs on GitHub... but I rather expect that's not the case and these are copied from some other authoritative source! Perhaps in the future...
