Indexers created without Data Sources

Examine Version: 4.0.0-beta 1 Umbraco Version: 10.0.0.1

When ExamineX is installed it creates indexers for the 3 indexes but no data sources.

Should the indexers creation be part of the BlobMedia package instead.?

Hi, indexers are used for a couple of things:

• To track the field mappings between what Examine and end user's expect to use and how things need to be stored in Azure Search since there are very specific rules for field naming. For example, a field name cannot start with an underscore but this is how Umbraco and Examine name many fields. These need to be mapped to a prefixed field name in Azure Search such as x__NodeId
• Used for the BlobMedia package with a data source to index PDF/Office docs

The latter is configured/created at runtime when content/media is saved or when the index is first created by the standard ExamineX packages.

Ah cool, I thought the indexers only act as a link between the data sources and the index.
