Do we need a model? #22

That is, should we add a section before the "4. Protocol" section that defines the abstract model. It should be short and relatively informal, but clarify what we mean by "collection", "fragment", "resource", etc. That way, we can just use these terms when defining the protocol, which should simplify the language, and make the whole thing easier to read.
