This could be a tool for showcasing a collection of educational resources.
We could link to such a collection to give access to a set of resources.
Gala looks nice. It seems to be an exhibition platform, meaning it is more suited to a narrative structure, so it would be a fit with the DFC content. It probably wouldn't be as good of a fit for just lists of citations or links. But maybe it doesn't need to do that since citation lists can be handled via Zotero.
As we discussed on the call, we would likely need to run our own instance of it.
I like Gala, but I'm unclear if it supports the kind of modularity we seek. Especially the ability to (re-)combine the modules into different curricula. A strawman example would help. Do we have such an example?
Modularity example: I created a Wikidata record for the fellowship workshop series, which lets me treat individual workshops as modules. Is that what we are after?
Hi @gheber,
For the purposes of modularity (with granularity), it might be helpful to conceive that:
Gala does not provide #1, but it does provide the ability for us to display DFC modules already.
If we decide that Gala is good for us, we would have to work on:
a. Make sure Gala can query and display Wikidata references; b. Make sure we have a "Curricular builder" that helps users create a curriculum simply by selecting a set of DFC modules.
Does this help?
