two possible use cases/ deployments:

(1) (in any case) external monitoring aka Industrial Protector

passive mirroring of all network communication as it is, inside the platform or the network device before
analyse in the Industrial Protector outside the platform
possible input of alarms/ notifications TBD later on

(2) (potentially and additionally) endpoint protection functionalities

monitoring, intrusion detection and active prevention inside
no special requirements regarding OS, ressources etc.
deployment architecture is flexible
definition later in a second step
